SMALLER CLEAR-OUTS
2-yard skip
A compact container can suit a small clear-out or a suitable heavy-material load. Weight and acceptable contents still need confirmation.
LOCAL SKIP HIRE · WEST SUSSEX
For skip hire in Arundel, choose your container by volume, waste type and where the lorry can safely deliver. DJ Recycling quotes 2, 4, 6 and 8-yard skips with seven days included in the standard hire. Materials and restrictions matter as much as size.

PRACTICAL ARUNDEL GUIDE
An Arundel renovation may involve limited turning space or a delivery approach that needs careful planning. Send a photo from the street to the proposed skip position. If a public-road placement is necessary, ask about the permit process before choosing a date.
For a property refurbishment, list timber, plasterboard, fixtures, rubble and general waste separately. Heavy construction material is not suitable for every skip size.
CLEAR GUIDE PRICES
The following are the current published standard rates. They exclude VAT and are subject to confirming the waste type and delivery details.
All guide prices exclude VAT. Standard hire is seven days. Mixed waste, green waste and hardcore have different rates and restrictions; please confirm what is allowed in your size. Not every material is accepted. A permit, if needed, can add costs.

HOUSEHOLD & DIY
Often worth discussing for a room refurbishment, garden tidy-up or small renovation. Ask about pricing for green waste versus mixed material.
BIGGER VOLUMES
These sizes can suit more voluminous accepted waste, but soil and hardcore are not permitted under the published rates.
ACCESS & PERMITS
For an older property or narrow approach, provide a photograph of the delivery route and indicate whether there is turning space

Do not place a skip over a footway, into a parking bay or on somebody else’s land without the appropriate arrangements.
West Sussex County Council states that it is the skip operator’s responsibility to obtain a licence for a skip on a public highway or qualifying private street. The council asks for at least ten working days’ notice for a standard application, so discuss permits before choosing a date.
WASTE ACCEPTANCE
General household or renovation waste can have different conditions from clean hardcore and green garden waste. Ask about plasterboard, electrical items, upholstered furniture, mattresses, paint, batteries, asbestos and other specialist materials before loading.
Do not overload or pile material above the skip rim.
A collection service can be worth discussing if your property has no suitable standing space or you need people to lift bulky items from indoors. Our rubbish-removal and house-clearance pages explain those alternatives.
Always describe unusual waste rather than relying on a catch-all “anything goes” price.
BOOKING CHECKLIST
Say whether the load is household waste, green waste, hardcore or another type, and list any specialist materials.
Supply a postcode and photo showing how the delivery vehicle would approach and where the skip would stand.
Ask for VAT, any highway licence, standard hire period, collection timing and extension charges to be clear before booking.
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Arundel is a small hill town below the castle, with steep streets like the High Street and Tarrant Street. Most of the old centre is a conservation area.
That makes it one of the trickier places for a skip. Steep, narrow roads and very few drives mean many central jobs need a road permit and a careful look at where a lorry can park. A smaller skip, or a skip bag, is often the practical answer.
Outside the old town, towards the A27, there's more room to work. Period properties produce old plaster, timber and roof tiles during renovations, so describe the waste properly when you ask for a quote.

Drawn next to someone 1.75m tall, because an 8-yard skip looks a lot bigger on a driveway than it does in a price list.

Have a different type of load? Speak to our Worthing-based team about acceptance and the correct container.
Published mixed-waste guide prices before VAT are £125 for a 2-yard, £220 for a 4-yard, £250 for a 6-yard and £320 for an 8-yard skip. Different waste types have different rates; ask for an all-in quote.
A public-highway position generally requires a council licence, which the skip operator is responsible for obtaining. West Sussex County Council normally asks for at least ten working days’ notice; please check before arranging dates.
The standard hire period is seven days. Ask about collection scheduling and any extension charges before you book.
Not under DJ Recycling’s published general-waste or green-waste rates for 6- and 8-yard skips. Heavy materials have specific size and acceptance restrictions.
Do not assume these are permitted in general mixed waste. Upholstered seating and some other materials need separate handling. List the items before booking.
Send photos and dimensions of the entrance and the proposed skip position. Vehicle approach, standing room and safe collection must be confirmed before delivery.
MORE LOCAL SERVICES
Arundel is a historic town where central streets and period properties can have very different placement options from newer developments outside the centre. The vehicle approach, parking arrangements and any restrictions on public land deserve an early check.
For building or house-clearance waste near the town centre, give a precise street address and photograph. Do not rely on the skip capacity figure alone to decide whether a container fits the delivery site.
For a public-highway skip in West Sussex, check West Sussex County Council’s permit guidance. If your property has a driveway, describe its width, surface and whether the delivery lorry has a safe approach. A postcode alone does not guarantee a suitable delivery location.
For a clear quotation, send your material list, preferred date and any relevant photographs. You can also read the skip-size guide and waste acceptance guide.
